Some of the best memories are not made from grand gestures, but from an ordinary afternoon. A table set in a beautiful garden, the sound of laughter over a shared meal, and something creative made with your own hands. That is exactly the kind of afternoon we are creating this Mother's Day at The Amariah Hotel.

Mother's Day at The Amariah

Some of the best memories are not made from grand gestures, but from an ordinary afternoon. A table set in a beautiful garden, the sound of laughter over a shared meal, and something creative made with your own hands. That is exactly the kind of afternoon we are creating this Mother's Day at The Amariah Hotel.

A Hotel That Knows How to Celebrate

Nestled in the heart of Mikocheni, The Amariah Hotel has become one of Dar es Salaam's most beloved boutique hotels, known for its warm hospitality, elegant garden setting, and the kind of personal touches that turn a visit into a memory. It is the kind of place that feels special from the moment you arrive, which makes it the perfect setting for a celebration as meaningful as Mother's Day.

On Saturday 9th May, from 12pm to 7pm, we are opening our doors for a very special Mother's Day Craft and Brunch. Whether you are treating your mum, celebrating with your children, or simply giving yourself the afternoon you deserve, this is a day meant to be enjoyed slowly and remembered fondly.

A Brunch

There is something about a beautifully laid brunch that makes everything feel a little more celebratory. Our Sembeti Restaurant will be at its very best, with a spread that invites you to sit back, savour every bite, and let the afternoon unfold at its own pace. No rushing, no cooking, no washing up. Just good food, good company, and the kind of warm Amariah hospitality that our guests know and love.

The String Art Workshop

At the heart of this Mother's Day celebration is a string art workshop, open to guests of all ages and experience levels. String art is a beautiful, tactile craft that requires no prior experience and produces something genuinely stunning. It is the kind of activity that brings people together in the most natural way, side by side with the people you love. Whether you are sitting across from your mum, your daughter, or your whole family, the workshop is as much about the experience as it is about the finished piece. You will leave with a piece of art made entirely by your own hands, a reminder of the afternoon long after it is over.

The Setting

Part of what makes this afternoon so special is simply where it takes place. The Amariah Hotel's garden is one of the most serene and beautiful spaces in Dar es Salaam, a calm, green retreat that feels like a world away from the city's usual pace. It is a space that has hosted countless celebrations, and it lends itself beautifully to an afternoon of creativity, connection, and good food.
